A school bus driver was arrested on Friday for mowing down a 24-year-old law student in south-east Delhi, a police officer said.

The school bus had hit the motorcycle ridden by Vinamra, 24, a resident of Kotla Mubarakpur, at the Modi Mill flyover on Thursday, around 3.30 p.m.

The third-year LLB student at Chaudhary Charan Singh University was rushed to a hospital but declared dead on arrival. “The body has been sent to AIIMS for the post-mortem examination,” the officer said.

An FIR has been registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106(1) (death by rash or negligent acts), and a probe is under way, the officer added.
